THIS IS YOU, #CORESTRONG!

You all have heard it or seen it with every post that I put on social media, #CORESTRONG, but what does CORESTRONG mean? I'll explain to you what being CORESTRONG is in this first story. It's about a person that you all may know very well, my wife Stephanie. She has a story that not many of you may know.

Stephanie entered into college as most young freshman, not practicing good food habits and very little time or interest for fitness. Academics were a priority to her, so that meant a lot of food on the go, and a lot of late nights studying. Throughout college she would go through spurts of trying to workout between classes, but never had much success. Steph's weight stayed about the same hovering around 160lbs or a size 10-12, and didn't really change too much. 

After college Steph had the amazing pleasure of saying yes to this lucky man ;) who just so happened to be working at Quik Trip, and would bring home donuts in the mornings for them to eat before she went off to work. After a few month of feeling probably the worse that we have ever felt, there needed to be a change! 

So Steph and I made some changes to our diets, felt a little better, and lost a little weight. While staying on track with the new food changes, a couple years later I started teaching TRX classes. That would be the start of a fire burninginside Steph. She would come to the two classes a week that I taught, and really enjoyed it. Seeing some results with the food changes we had made along with the new workouts, Steph was really growing an interest in fitness! We then had completed a 12 week TRX program where we both got great results, and only added more fuel to Steph's desire to GET BETTER. This set a new desire to work hard EVERY TIME she set foot into the gym because she knew that the only limit to her getting stronger and better was herself. Steph has lost over 40lbs, dropped 5 pant sizes, and has gained a TON of strength, confidence, and drive to get BETTER. It's not uncommon to find her at a class now four times a week! She is CORESTRONG! Her hard work every time she shows up, her dedication to show up, and the drive to WANT more, leads her to be CORESTRONG! 

This is where you can pull your energy EVERYTIME! YOU get to choose when to show up, YOU get to choose how hard you want to work that day, but what I get to give you is the ability to reach out and live the CORESTRONG life! You just have to take it like Stephanie and want to get BETTER EVERY TIME you show up!!

This is Sean and his awesome journey! Sean has been an example of hard work and dedication to get back to feeling like his old self. Change hasn't come easy and it never does, but these are the results and the benefits from living a #CORESTRONG Life!

"Where to begin?  CORE Strong Fitness and the TRX program have made the biggest impact on my life and health.  All through high school I was involved in many sports and maintained a relatively healthy diet and was able to stay fit and healthy. After graduating high school and getting ready for college my health took a downward spiral. It wasn’t the “freshman 30” for me but more like the “freshman 60.” Things were not looking good for me. I was always tired, never had the drive to do anything, sleeping was terrible, and I was always uncomfortable.  Thankfully, with the encouragement of my fiancé Andrea whom was involved in the TRX program, my friend and instructor Mark Campbell, and the team of CORE Strong Fitness I was able to make drastic changes in my health life again. In just a little over a year with CORE Strong Fitness I was able to lose all 60 pounds and became stronger and more fit than I have ever been. They continually push me to set new goals and achieve them. I am extremely thankful for Mark Campbell at CORE Strong Fitness and all that he and the TRX program has done for me and will continue to do for others."

This is Anne, and here is her story of what it took for her to make permanent, long lasting changes, to see real and permanent results!

 

"Where should I start? I grew up playing sports and basically could eat whatever I wanted. I never worried about my weight or dress size because I didn't have to. Fast forward four years with a college degree, fresh off a divorce, and a little depressed, I tried to put on a pair of shorts from the summer before and they wouldn't even come up to my thighs. Huge wake up call.  

 

I started going to my chiropractor for a previous ankle injury and then I met Mark back in 2009. I lost about twenty pounds by working out sporadically doing some TRX classes with Mark and taking fitness classes wherever but still eating whatever I wanted. New Year's Eve 2015, I can't wear the outfit I want because I had a muffin top. I texted Mark, who had started his own business,CORE Strong Fitness, and told him I was ready. I was ready to actually pay attention to nutrition and to actually commit to a lifestyle change consistent with healthy food and a regular exercise program. 

 

I decided to try a 28 day food and exercise program. My husband was also ready to take on this challenge. My honeymoon was three months away and I wanted to feel great in a bikini. I started attending CORE Strong Fitness's TRX classes 3 to 4 times a week while paying attention to what food and how much was going into my body propelled me into a lifestyle I never envisioned!  My husband would help plan our healthy meals and help keep me on track. Mark has been by my side the entire time answering questions about food whether I text or call him. He's been a huge source of encouragement and a wonderful coach by showing me the way to become a better version of myself. He is the whole package. I worked extremely hard, but I would not have had the success I've had if it wasn't for CORE Strong Fitness!"

I want to introduce you to John. This is not your typical transformation story of weight loss or personal best time in a race, but a journey to finding an inner athlete and the strength benefits in everyday life!

We have all seen television advertisements about at-home exercise programs guaranteeing weight loss and a beach body. (One of those systems even rhymes with TRX.) The 40, 80, or 100 pound transformations often state the results are not typical and individual results may vary. 

My reasons to improve my body did not differ from others: I was starting to gain weight and my body as beginning to take the shape fitting of middle age. Mark and Stephanie frequently encouraged me to try TRX. I respectfully declined; it looked like something people who were already in shape did to improve their fit bodies. But that planted a seed and over time I thought I would give it a try. The very thing that made it look hard inspired me to try something that others would never think I could do. 

 

It was hard work but I saw and felt results. As weeks went by, what was hard my first few times became easier. I started to sleep better, I was standing straighter, and I just felt better. My confidence rose with each new challenge. After a while I looked and felt more fit. My brothers were (for once) impressed with my strength and stamina. Without knowing it I had my own kind of transformation. My results were not typical, in fact, they were better than I could ever imagine

This is the story of Elyse who is a mom of 3 children. Find out what it takes as a mom struggling with her relationship with food and how to lead her family down a road of a healthy CORE Strong Life!

 

I have spent majority of my life overweight.  I’ve tried many programs, diet plans, gyms, you name it, but nothing was helping me successfully take off and keep off the weight, and after having three kids, I was really struggling.  Two years ago I sought help from Core Wellness Institute and my eyes were opened to realizing that I was an emotional eater, and that many activities in my life were centered around food.  I spent an entire year (not intentionally) working on my relationship with food and transforming that relationship so food was no longer my friend, but simply fuel to get me through my day.  I failed many times along the way, but I learned SO much.

 

Finally, about one year ago I decided to check out this TRX class that Mark had been talking about.  I had no idea what it was, or what we would be doing in class, but I was ready to make a change for myself.  It didn’t take long for me to discover that this form of exercise was exactly what I needed!  I have worked hard over this past year, and have been able to succeed with movements I couldn’t even do when I began!  I’ve gained lots of muscle, confidence, and a drive to keep getting better.  I’ve lost weight, inches, and self-doubt.  

What has been the best part about being a member of CORE Strong Fitness? The friendships made, the accountability to show up, and the best coach around!  It is a family, and without Mark’s direction and encouragement, I would NOT be where I am now with exercise and fitness.  All of this has propelled me to have a healthier lifestyle all around, and now I’m bringing my entire family on this journey with me.  You can check out our family’s journey and like our Facebook page, we’d love to have you along.

This is Laura. As a competitive runner finding CORE Strong Fitness has helped her improve her ability to be a stronger more durable athlete! Here is her testimony.

 

TRX + Running = Better Performance!  As a competitive runner, finding the right strength training and flexibility workout that is low impact and convenient is not always easy.  The core focus of the Core Strong Fitness program is the perfect fit.  In a short time I saw improvement in my core and upper body strength which translated into efficiency in my runs.

From athlete, to overweight mom, to 100 miler athlete! This is the story of Shay and her journey with CORE Strong Fitness to transform herself into much more than just a weekend warrior.

TRX has been a part of my life for the better part of 3 years. I was introduced to this style of training by Mark Campbell after being a patient at Core Wellness Institute. As an athlete and a mom, I recognize the importance of functional strength.  I’ve participated in most every sport in my life, but have always been on the heavier side of healthy.

When I had my children, I put on a lot of weight in addition to my existing weight, I was sedentary and soft. After losing about 60 pounds, I started coming to TRX in preparation for marathons and ultimately my first 100 mile race. I continued losing (another 30 pounds) and the moment I started TRX, I knew I was hooked. Mark has this way of training and teaching which shows you how passionate he is. 

I learn in every class, expanding my understanding about how to be an athlete and how to work functional strength into everyday. It’s not just about being able to run for hours, it’s about being able to pick up all three of my children and carry them. To carry groceries in without breaking a sweat.

Through my time with Mark, I’ve suffered injuries and setbacks. A broken toe,hysterectomy and abdominal surgery in 2015 alone. TRX was the one thing I could go back to almost immediately. Scaling it for my needs, working with me and helping me feel like I’d achieved when I had lost so much fitness. TRX is something that can be a part of my life’s journey, helping me feel success and strength when there are things out of my control. Mark is a huge part of that.

There are so many people with stories similar to Shay's. The fact of the matter is are you ready to put in the hard work to get to were you can be the best "athlete" of your daily life?! There will be obstacles along the way on your journey, but that doesn't mean you have to give up completely on you dream. At CORE Strong Fitness you will meet you are your fitness level to get you to your goal. Come in and see where the journey begins!
